United States and parts of Canada
The Staff at Fast Running Paws consists of primarily me, Alyssa, and my six children. Outside help is accepted when we have a larger number of dogs, or are called out of town. We welcome volunteers anytime!! The kids are a big part of training these dogs to be good pets. The dogs get used to being around all the energy and excitement of kids running around and being loud. Even Gracie Jayne, 1 year old, helps the dogs learn to be gentle around small humans. The four older children, alicia, Abby, Arianna and DJ, are being shown how to properly clicker train and be strong leaders around the dogs. Lilly, the middle child at 3 years, has a natural way with them and can get any dog, so far, to respect her and sit with only eye contact. The children are ALWAYS under supervision while working with the dogs. They enjoy learning and I enjoy teaching them, both kids and dogs!
I can post and help with owner surrenders from all over the country and in some cases even transport or arrange transport. Space is limited at my home, but I knw alot of folks and can really spread the word!! We specialize in hard to place and northern breeds.
I will gladly post, and advertise retired sled dogs that need new homes. I have succesfully trained alaskan huskys to be good house pets and live as a family member inside a house. It takes time and patience, but it can be done!! So, please send me a photo and a quick bio of your retired worker, and I will do whatever I can to find them thier forever home!
Most of our animals are owner surrenders that are using our site to get their fuzzy faces out there so we don't really have a place to come see the animals....yet!
If you are interested inn meeting an animal that you have seen today, give us a call or shoot us an email and we would be happy to arrange a meting!
