Shelter FAQs

Unfortunately, we can't find every lost dog and cat their correct home, that is where you come into play! All of our animals have been at the shelter for 7 days before they are adopted out. This gives their owners time to claim them and also lets us observe them for any behavior or health issues.
We are a completely self-funded county department in Cambridge, IL. We pick-up lost dogs and cats that are located out side any city limits, this means that we cover a lot of territory.

Additional adoption info

The only adoption "fee" that we require is $50.00 that goes to the vet of your choice to cover your first vet visit for spay/neuter and all shots.

We do also ask that you give us the name of your vet before you can adopt just so that we can check in with them.
