Areas Pet Placement Center Serves

The Tennessee Humane Animal League is a 501(c)3 organization devoted to the placement of homeless or surrendered animals through The Pet Placement Center (PPC). The PPC survives entirely on donations and fundraising activities.

We are a no kill animal adoption center which means we have very limited space. Once an animal comes to the Pet Placement Center, it will remain with us until it is adopted into a responsible permanent home...so we often have to turn people away due to lack of space. The PPC is a private adoption center and does not do animal control or do animal pick ups.

We are located in Chattanooga area toward Soddy Daisy and near Highway 153.

Pet Placement Center's Adoption Process

1. Submit Application

It takes 1-2 business days to process applications.

2. Approve Application

You will get an email if more info is needed and will get an email or phone call when approved.

3. Meet the Pet

Meet & greets and adoptions are made by appointment only at this time. Masks required to enter building.

4. Sign Adoption Contract

5. Pay Fee

6. Take the Pet Home

All potential adoptions are carefully screened by submitting an application for approval. This is to ensure proper placement of each of our animals in a permanent home.

The adoption fee includes a free veterinary exam within 2 weeks of adoption at local participating vets, up to date vaccinations, FELV/FIV test (cats), heartworm test & preventative (dogs), flea preventative, dewormer, microchip, & spay or neuter.

All animals are spayed/neutered before being placed up for adoption.

About Pet Placement Center

The Pet Placement Center not only saves animals to adopt to good homes, but also works with local rescuers to assist with the trap-neuter-release of feral cat colonies. We also provide pet food, litter, and other supplies for low income pet owners & other rescue organizations in need.

Come Meet Pet Placement Center's Pets

We are open Wednesday - Sunday 12 - 5 PM but are currently only doing meet & greets and adoptions by appointment only. We still answer phones and emails during business hours.

The shelter is closed on Mondays and Tuesdays.
