Shelter FAQs

Collier County Domestic Animal Services is Collier County's only Open Admission animal shelter, accepting thousands of animals from all over Collier County - including those that are lost, sick, injured, neglected, abused, confiscated, or surrendered by their families. Collier County does not euthanize healthy, adoptable, animals for space. However, DAS will not allow animals to suffer - physically or mentally - when there is no other reasonable resource available to help. DAS has a responsibility to keep our community safe, for both people and animals, and will not knowingly adopt out animals that pose a danger to others.
