Animal Services houses over 4,500 animals annually of combined Salinas and Monterey County animals.
Monterey County and City of Salinas Animal Services are working together and under one shelter on 160 Hitchcock Road. All animals that would normally come in to each respective shelter are now being housed at the Monterey County Animal Shelter.
