Rescue FAQs

If you are interested in any of our wonderful kitizens, please email us at annapolis.petsmart.kitties@gmail.com or call us at 443-758-6118. We look forward to hearing from you soon!
L.C.A.R. is a no kill rescue group. based out of Waldorf, Maryland, and has kitties in 22 PetSmarts in Maryland and Virginia.  The kitties posted on here are located at the Annapolis PetSmart only.  If you need to contact L.C.A.R. please call 301-848-1956. Please contact them directly if you have any questions about giving up a pet, returning a pet or information about any other adoption centers.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fee is $135 each, payable by cash or check.  No credit cards, please.  Adopters must agree to keep their kitty as an indoor pet only, not indoor/outdoor and not outdoor.  Indoors only, no exceptions.  Also, adopters must agree to not declaw their kitty.  Potential adopters must fill out an application, and it will be reviewed.  This usually takes about two days, three days if you apply on a Friday.  During this time, one of our volunteers will call you and speak to you about the kitty.   If we feel you're a good match to the kitty you have applied for, you will be contacted and you can come in and take your new furry baby home!  A free bag of Science Diet is given with each adoption.  Please don't forget a carrier (our kitties cannot leave the adoption center unless they are safe and secure in a carrier).  Also, don't forget to buy a litter box, litter,  a scratching post and some toys!
