Rescue FAQs

We are a 501(c)3 organization founded in 2009, run entirely by volunteers to promote spay/neuter, adoption, and humane treatment of animals. All of our adoptable pets are in foster care which is a better preparation for adoption than a shelter.. We partner with the Southeastern Correctional Institution, where many of our dogs receive excellent training, in their cell dog program. In addition to rescuing stray or unwanted pets, we are very active in providing affordable spay/neuter for the pets of our county. We have frequent clinics, using the RASCALS mobile veterinary hospital. At our SPOT clinics we primarily focus on dogs. We partner with another local group, MoCo Kitty Kontrol, which focuses on cats.
Morgan County in rural southeastern Ohio. Our spay/neuter clinic building is at 985 State Route 60, in McConnelsville. It is only staffed for our clinics; at other times it is open by appointment only. It is not a shelter. If a dog must be surrendered, that may be arranged by calling SPOT, or by calling the Dog Warden at 740-962-6424. SPOT works closely with the Dog Warden to rescue all adoptable dogs from the pound.

Additional adoption info

We have a short adoption application on our website
www.morganspot.org
We will respond by phone or by email to the application. Submitting an application does not commit the applicant to an adoption for the pet selected, or any pet. It is just the first step of the process.
The adoption fee varies, but is usually in the $100-$300 range. All our pets are spayed or neutered, up-to-date on rabies vaccination and other shots, vet-checked, heart-worm negative, and all receive monthly heart-worm preventative and flea and worm meds.

100% of all donations go directly to the care of the dogs we rescue. Our organization is all-volunteer. You may use the "Donate" button on our website www.morganspot.org or send a check by mail to PO Box 494 Stockport, OH 43787
