Ohio Pound Pals's adoption process

Additional adoption info

All dogs may or may not be up-to-date on their shots or spayed/neutered. If the dog is not spayed/neutered it is the new owner's responsibility to fix the pet within 60 days. NO ACCEPTIONS on spay/neutering!

Each adoption fee will vary depending on the dog. Some may have been URGENTLY pulled from high kill pounds and others may already be in an owner's presence that needs to find a home quickly. We do not add any extra fee's to the adoption. The fee is only what it has cost us to get them back to good health if they have been pulled from the pound.

Visit our website for more information and an Adoption Application.

About Ohio Pound Pals

We are posting for dogs that need to "URGENTLY" go to rescue groups or permanent homes.

The purpose of Ohio Pound Pals is to help dogs that have been pulled from high kill shelters at the last minute, find a home or rescue. We also help residents find homes for their pets that are in need of "URGENT" placement before surrendering them to the pound.

Members of the Ohio Pound Pals foster dogs that are pulled "Urgently" out of the Carroll County Ohio pound at the last minute before euthanization. So therefore, these dogs are also in need of "Urgent" placement.

Our mission is to minimize owner surrenders to Ohio dog pounds, decreasing the euthanization rates, and provide help placing dogs safely.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
