Areas Weatherford/Parker County Animal Shelter Serves

The City of Weatherford-Parker County Animal Shelter is a joint venture between the City of Weatherford, the City of Hudson Oaks, Springtown, Aledo, Willow Park and Unincorporated Parker County. Because we take in an nearly 6,000 animals a year, our space fills up quickly. We have 102 dog kennels, a cat room with several kitty condos, and additional cages for cats being evaluated prior to being placed for adoption. You are welcome to visit us to see all of the adoptable animals.

Weatherford/Parker County Animal Shelter's Adoption Process

You must be 18 years of age or older to adopt an animal. Our adoption fee is $100 for female dogs, $90 for male dogs and $50 for cats. The fee includes spay or neuter of the animal; plus rabies, parvo, and distemper vaccinations (for dogs), feline distemper vaccinations (for cats). It also includes micro-chipping. All you need is your state issued identification card to begin! What a GREAT deal for a new best friend!!

There may be another one you will like just as much! ◦We are unable to guarantee that specific animals shown will still be available. We make every effort to update our adoption page Tuesday - Saturday before we leave each day. ◦Please remember new animals become available for adoption everyday so please visit regularly until you find your perfect pet!◦We are unable to hold animals by phone, fax or email.

Our mission is to be the model for both rural and urban shelters; we reunite, rescue, shelter and secure permanent homes for adoptable companion animals and livestock; we support a healthy and responsible pet community as well as advocate for responsible pet ownership; we fight the pet overpopulation problem; and we protect the community by managing the epidemiological risks and enforcing the laws and ordinances pertaining to the animals.

The shelter is open to the public Tuesday, Thursday and Saturday from 11am - 4pm and Wednesday and Friday from 11am - 6pm. The shelter is located at 403 Hickory Lane in Weatherford, Texas.
