RCACP provides temporary shelter for stray, abandoned, and surrendered animals to return them to their owners or find them permanent, suitable new homes and to provide cost effective sheltering through regional partnerships to ensure the highest live release rate practical for our community. Adoption steps
- Submit Application
- This may be done ahead of time online or in person during our adoption hours: Monday-Saturday between 1-4pm.
- Approve Application
- Online apps: 1-2 business days to approve
In-Person: Typically, under 10 minutes
- Meet the Pet
- We offer scheduled and walk in meet and greets with an approved application.
- Sign Adoption Contract
- Once you've picked a pet to adopt, there will be a small amount of paperwork. This typically takes less than 30 mins.
- Take the Pet Home
- We supply a collar and leash, toys, treats, and a small amount of transitional food to take home with you!
Additional adoption info
The first step in adopting through RCACP is to complete an Adoption Application at www.rcacp.org or in-person at our shelter.

Contact Friends of RCACP on Facebook for information on how to donate directly towards our pets in need of supplies and medical care! For any blankets, beds, toys, towels, bowls etc., please come by the shelter to donate in person.
