Rescue FAQs

We are a 501 (c)(3) non-profit no-kill animal rescue/adoption organization & information clearinghouse in NYC dedicated to decreasing the number of homeless cats & kittens by rescuing those abandoned or in city "kill" shelters. We have no formal shelter, instead, our cats reside in our homes until we can find a suitable home for them. We spend a lot of time interacting with our rescues to give them a lot of personalized attention, establish their personality traits, and tend to their health, and physical and emotional well being. We have a holistic philosophy with a two-pronged mission: a) continuing to participate in the myriad, ongoing rescue and adoption work of all of the similarly involved local groups; and b) raising awareness for humans to be better, more responsible, committed and informed animal care-givers. This includes information on holistic vet care, quality food and inclusion of pet trusts in people's advance directives.
We rescue cats and dogs from both the NYC shelter system as well as through the community. Our adopters are primarily in the tri-state area.

Additional adoption info

We will work with you to ensure that our rescues are going to a good home where everyone will be happy. Cats, just like their humans are unique. We want you to have the right cat in a safe environment. If you would like to adopt from us, please go to our website, www.animalloversnetwork.org, where you’ll find our adoption application. Please send in the completed application along with veterinary references – and please check with landlords and roommates first before applying. As with all adoptions, a contribution is required to help with rescue costs incurred and to enable us to keep helping animals like these in need.
