Rescue FAQs

We mainly rescue dogs and cats from local Animal Shelters/Control when those facilities are overcrowded. Our adoptable cats are located in our H.O.P.E. Pet Adoption Center in the Wilton Mall and dogs are in individual foster homes. We have educational programs for children and adults about choosing a pet and the responsibilities of pet ownership, and safety around animals. We welcome volunteers for any of these programs or for our fundraising committee.

Additional adoption info

We require an application to be submitted. We will call your landlord, if applicable, and your veterinarian. We will visit your home prior to placing a pet with you to ensure as perfect a match as we can. Applying for a pet does not guarantee adoption. Our adoption fee is $100 for cats and $250 and up for dogs. We have a Senior to Senior adoption program - all pets 7 years of age up may be placed free of charge to a qualified senior citizen (age 65 and older).
.
All HOPE animals are spayed or neutered prior to adoption. All HOPE animals are tested for heartworm, , feline leukemia, etc. and have been vaccinated as appropriate for the pet's age and species.
