Shelter FAQs

The Dublin Laurens County Humane Society was created in 1963, with an idea and love for animals by Jackie Beacham, Frarie and Carolyn Smalley, and Miss Connie Warren. In 1979, the Humane Society became incorporated and the building was built in 1980. Our mission is to help as many animals as we can and educate as many people that we can in the hope that one day there will be no suffering, over population, or homeless animals.
We serve the Laurens County area this includes Dublin, Dexter, Rentz, Cadwell, Dudley, Montrose, Rockledge, and Cedar Grove. Laurens County is the 3rd largest county in Georgia. In all the counties that surround us there is only one other shelter and they can only house dogs.
