Rescue FAQs

Erie Shores HS is an all volunteer, non-profit 501c3 certified rescue dedicated to the rescue, restore, and rehome process of the abused, neglected, and abandoned animals in and around Lorain County, Ohio.

Our rescue is not shelter based. Instead, we rely on the dedicated foster homes and families who volunteer with our rescue to provide all needed aspects to our rescues, from care, to socialization, promotion, and placing into loving forever homes. In our experience over the last 30 years, the foster based method we use has proved to be effective in placing our rescues in the most suitable, loving homes based on their temporary stay in our foster homes. We truly could not function without the dedication and support of the people who make up our foster homes, and their commitment to the rescued animals.

We promote general and public education regarding care of animals and spay/neutering.

If you are interested in learning more about becoming a volunteer with ES, would like to learn more about our foster based program, or are interested in adopting one of our rescued animals, please inquire with fureverhome@erieshoreshumanesociety.com

Thank you for your continued interested and support of our mission that helps to save hundreds to thousands of lives a year!
We service, but are not limited to, the Lorain County, Ohio area.
