Meridian Canine Rescue's Adoption Process

More information about adopting from the Meridian Canine Rescue:

To start the process, please contact our staff via email at You can ask us questions and schedule a meet-and-greet.

Meet-and-greets will take place at 501 E Scenery Ln, Ste 100 in Meridian, ID.

Before finalizing an adoption, we require all family members living in the household, including any other dogs, to participate in a supervised meet-and-greet at our location. We love getting the opportunity to talk with families and introduce them to the amazing dogs at our Rescue. This interaction gives us all a chance to get to know the dogs better and to discuss any potential challenges or concerns. We provide post-adoption support for life, so the on-site meet-and-greet is the first step to a great relationship.

We no longer breed label, as we don't DNA test and are instead focusing on the individual dogs and their personalities. We'd be happy to discuss this decision with you at the Rescue.

The adoption fee for each dog is set at $300 and is used to cover our expenses. The adoption fee for bonded pairs is $450, and we do offer 10% discounts for seniors, military/former military, and first responders. Because we receive no funding and have no vet clinic on-site, our standard adoption fee is set to recoup the money we've spent caring for your dog before you take him/her home.

All dogs are examined, spayed or neutered, fully vaccinated, and microchipped (with lifetime enrollment). We provide additional medical care as needed.

Once an MCR dog, always an MCR dog. We will support you and your dog for the rest of his or her life. We've gathered resources and references, so there are plenty of people to help you if you have any questions or concerns after bringing your new family member home.

*Please note that MCR's operations are changing in response to the coronavirus pandemic. Visit our website ( for the most current information about our adoption process.
