Rescue FAQs

Haven to Home Canine Rescue is an all volunteer organization that was founded in June 2008. We do not have a shelter, but use foster homes to care for the dogs that are awaiting their forever homes. FOSTER HOMES are the HAVEN in Haven to Home. We are a non-profit, 501(c)3, organization.
Haven to Home is a small rescue group in central PA. We have adopted our dogs throughout central PA and even into New York State. Our volunteers are from Union, Snyder, Northumberland and Montour counties.

Adoption steps

  1. Submit Application
    1. Please fill out an adoption application on our website. We do not accept Adopt-a-pet applications.
  2. Interview
  3. Home Check
  4. Approve Application
    1. Reference checks are done during this step.

Additional adoption info

Filling out an application is the first step. An online application is located on Haven to Home's homepage. Application, references, home visit and adoption fee are required to adopt one of our dogs. Due to the severe overpopulation of dogs in this country Haven to Home believes that responsible pet owners have their pets spayed or neutered. Therefore it is our policy not to adopt our dogs to people who do not have their current animals spayed or neutered unless there is a medical reason. Adoption fees are listed on our website.
