tampabay cat alliance inc's adoption process

1.

Approve Application

once application is approved, we deliver the kitty and do the adoption contract. since we no longer have a public facility, we do meet/greet

Additional adoption info

An adoption application can be filled out at online, on our website: www.tampabaycatalliance.org

Our fee usually costs between $40 and $70 based on age of cat.

Once an application is completed and returned to us, our Board of Directors review it. If the application meets our criteria and is approved, we will contact the potential adopter. This process usually takes a few days so please be patient. It is encouraged that the potential adopter reviews our adoption contract, found either in our shelter or on our website, before filling out and application for a list of criteria we require be met when adopting one of our felines. our main criteria is cats are to be indoors only and no declawing.

After agreeing to the contract, we then set up a date and time with the adopter to deliver the cat to it's new home. We do NOT allow people to pick up cats from our shelter, or adoption events.

We deliver our cats so we can see where they will be living to make sure it is a safe environment and inform their new owner of any potential problems something in the home might cause. We only adopt cats to be strictly indoors, do not allow declawing, and do not adopt to out of state residents.

Thank you for considering adopting from us and understanding our strict adoption policy. We consider these cats our "children" and want only the best for them after they have already had it so hard before ending up with us.

About tampabay cat alliance inc

Tampabay Cat Alliance, Inc. has been incorporated since December 2010. In 2011 we applied for our 501(c)3 and received it in June. In April, 2013 we opened our Shelter located at the Port Richey address. We are an all-volunteer group with a Board of Directors. we receive no funding and rely only on donations, adoptions, and fundraisers. we are a non-profit rescue organization.....

We rescue cats that have been abandoned and are unwanted. We have many people surrendering their cats because of many issues. We feel that each cat deserves care and love. The need for spaying and neutering all felines is so important. We encourage all those we come in contact with to have their cats spayed/neutered, vetted and cared for.

We also socialize and adopt stray or feral cats in the community, and help abandoned kittens and cats find homes. When space allows it, we pull cats who are on euthanasia lists to come live with us.

We are a NEVER kill rescue and keep all of our cats until they are either homed or eventually pass. Our goal is to find each cat a fur-ever home. we are a non-profit rescue organization.

tampabay cat alliance inc's adopted pets

Adopt a Pet is the easiest way for you to search for a new pet in new port richey, FL.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
