Shelter FAQs

The Animal Services Department is responsible for all animal control operations, including nuisance complaints, animal cruelty investigations, animal attacks, handling of rabid animals, dead animals, injured animals, the animal adoption program, and taking care of the animals at the Columbia County shelter.
Columbia County - including Martinez, Evans, Harlem, Appling, and Grovetown

Adoption Fees: $25 for adult pets | $20 for puppies & kittens Visit the shelter 1940 William Few Pkwy, Grovetown GA. Monday through Friday 10:30 am to 4:30 pm. When adopting an animal from Animal Services, you must sign an agreement to take the animal to a Veterinarian of your choice within three days of adoption. The Animal Services Shelter does not have a veterinarian on the premises.

Customers are also be required to sign an agreement to have the animal spayed or neutered. This is a State Law in Georgia which became effective in July 1994.

Once all of the paperwork is completed, you will have a wonderful new addition to your family!
