Shelter FAQs

Liberty Humane Shelter is a NO KILL, non profit (501c3) organization. We are housed in a facility with the Liberty County Animal Control. We save cats and dogs from the animal control facility that are on death row. Every week we walk through the facility and must try to decide which animals are healthy, and are family friendly. After temperment testing the animal and testing them for heartworms or feline leukemia and feline fiv, we pull the animal to our side. We provide worming, shots, microchipping and make an appointment for their spay/neuter and rabies shot. Then we start looking for a forever family for the animals. We are committed to these animals and we promise to find them a home.
Serving Liberty, Long, Wayne, Bryan counties and many times other surrounding counties. Many of our animals come from Fort Stewart and are also adopted to families from Fort Stewart.
