Additional adoption info

The fee to adopt is $30. We require
a fenced in yard. If puppies are adopted we
start their shots and adopter is required to
continue the shots including rabies, they are
asked to give us their vet info so we can
verify care.

About Jacksboro Animal Shelter

We are a city run shelter but do accept donations through the Friends of the Animal Shelter.
At this time we are making improvements to our facility but we are still very small and can only hold 15-20 animals.
We have plans to build a new shelter in the near future by breaking ground Jan. 2020

Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
