Areas Gregory's Gift of Hope, Inc Serves

St. Croix County in Wisconsin and any surrounding smaller rural areas that ask for our assistance. We also help in emergency situations through our rescue contacts, so some animals may come from areas outside of our home state.

Gregory's Gift of Hope, Inc's Adoption Process

As we are a small rescue/re-home facility with an equally as small volunteer staff, at this time we are forced to limit our adoptions to suitable adopters that reside within a 100 mile radius of our facility. Before you proceed with any adoption inquiries, be aware of where we are located in relation to your personal residence. Please continue reading for our adoption policies and procedures.

Be aware that we have Fencing, Indoor Living and Declawing policies. We will not waiver on these policies as it is our responsibility to ensure the animals in our care are placed into the safest and healthiest environment possible. No exceptions made.

* You must be at least 21 years old to adopt
* The entire household must be in agreement about
adopting the animal you choose
* You may not adopt for someone else or for a gift
* We encourage that all dogs under 3 years old attend
training sessions, either private or group
* Dogs and cats must live indoors
* Dogs require fencing. Please read our fencing policy which
can be found here, by pasting this URL into a new browser
* No declawing of cats allowed

Adoption Process for Dogs:

* Read our Fencing Policy
* Contact us to make an appointment
(Dogs shown by appointment only.)
*Complete and submit an application
(Submitting an application prior to meeting the dog does
not reserve your spot for the dog. You can submit the
application ahead of time if you wish, but you must meet t
the dog before being considered an applicant.)
*Application & references are reviewed
*A home visit is then scheduled
*And finally, if everything works out, a pick-up time will be set
for you to bring your new canine companion home

Adoption Process for Cats:

* Agree to our Indoor Living and No Declawing policies
* Come to our facility to meet the potential cat to be
adopted (we will not adopt cats out sight-unseen).
Public visitation hours for cats, Sun-Tue & Thur-Sat: 9am -
12noon & 5pm - 8pm (we are closed on Wednesday)
* Complete and submit an adoption application
* Your application will be reviewed and references
* Application approved - we will contact you to set up a
pick-up time for you to bring your new feline companion
* Application denied - you are contacted and informed of

NOTE: If you live in an apartment, town home, condo or rent a single family home, do you have permission from your landlord or association to house an animal? Proof of this is required BEFORE we can continue with any adoption request. We will not consider an adoption application until we have this authorization in hand. Please be sure your authorization form contains your property owner's name and phone number as we will call to validate.

*We cannot guarantee a time-frame for completion of the full process - each application has its own considerations and if there are multiple applications for the same animal, the process is obviously lengthened. Exit veterinary visits can sometimes take a few days depending on their availability. You must also take into consideration that we are an animal "rescue" facility and emergencies often arise which take precedence over everything.  We will do our best, however, to move things along in as timely a manner as we possibly can.

Adoption Fees Include:

* Six months & older - animal is spayed/neutered
* Under six months - voucher given for free spay/neuter (Glenwood City vet only)
* Treatment for external & internal parasites
* Dogs are Heartworm tested
* Cats are Feleuk & FIV tested
* Microchip
* Age appropriate vaccinations
* Exit exam and health certificate by our veterinarian prior
to release from GGOH

Our adoption fees for cats are as follows:

Seniors (8 years and older) - $150

Note: the higher cost for puppies and kittens relates directly to the amount of care and frequency of vaccinations which they require.

About Gregory's Gift of Hope, Inc

Established in 2003, we are a no-kill rescue/re-home program that takes in abandoned, homeless and unwanted animals. We work tirelessly to find new, permanent homes for our rescues. Our program's Director began this journey when our county's humane society was closed down.

A note from our Director:

"I have been a lifelong rescuer; all of my pets (currently, 10 dogs and 5 cats) are rescue animals. They mean the world to me and I want to help as many animals as I can while I am on this earth. Back in 2003, I gathered together many animal lovers in the area and we started our rescue efforts; we've continued to grow over time and are now operating as a 501c3 organization, which has helped us strengthen our efforts to save the animals. We want to see that no animal goes without love, shelter, food or a happy life. We work on educating the public about the overpopulation problem, we promote spay/neuter programs, and we do group tours at our facility to teach about the rescue re-home world. To get our youth community involved, we visit schools to teach about responsible pet ownership, animal abuse and neglect, and what they as an animal advocate can do to help prevent these tragedies. We are proud of what we do here at our rescue and we believe it is our job to protect those that speak another language and quite honestly, we just could not imagine a world without them. I invite you to join our efforts by becoming a sustainable monthly donor, a volunteer with our program or, simply to be another voice for the animals. Contact us today to find out how you can help."
