Additional adoption info

Our fee for each furry friend varies. We are a very small rescue and the fees are considerably less than other rescues because we only have 1-2 dogs at a time to care for. The fee includes the vet expenses and any other expense that during the stay of the dog at the rescue.
Our adoption policy is as follows; a contract application is filled out, checked, and either accepted or denied. A meet & greet is scheduled to give your family and the potential new family member (dog) a chance to introduce yourselves to each other. If this goes well, a home check is the scheduled. A member of the Big Paw Big Heart Rescue will schedule a home visit to ensure that the home is safe for the arrival of your new 4 legged family member.

About Big Paw Big Heart K9 Rescue

We are a small K9 rescue. Our goal is to rescue one dog at a time. Our dogs are rescued from euthenasia, neglect, abandonment, etc. We ensure that each dog that is rescued is nuetered/ spayed, and has all vaccines. We get to know the canine and their temperment towards humans, kitties and other dogs. We then place the dog in the best possible hone for both the dog and the adoptive family.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
