It's a Grey Area Greyhound Adoption was founded in January of 2010 by Lesley Tierney Ezkovich and Brittaney Spruill. Through our combined years of experience and a dedicated group of people to support us, we formed It's a Grey Area Greyhound Adoption Group. We are dedicated to the proper placement of the retired racing greyhound along with the formation of a fun, committed greyhound group. We are a 501c3 organization.

Our commitment to greyhounds continues beyond the day we hand the leash to the new family. We are here for whatever an adoptive family could need. In good times and bad. We are there for the greyhounds we place, as well as those we have never met before.

Rescue FAQs

We place retired racing greyhounds in adoptive homes throughout Louisiana, Mississippi and Alabama.

Our adoption application can be found at: http://itsagreyarea.com/howtoadopt.html

Someone will contact you within 24 hours of receiving your application to begin the adoption process.

You will be matched with an Adoption Coordinator in your area and that person will arrange a time to do a home visit.

After the home visit, we will match your family with the greyhound we feel would be the best fit for you. If, at that time, should we have more than one dog available that would make a good addition to your family, then you will certainly be able to make that choice.

When you receive your dog, you will sign the adoption contract, pay the $200 adoption fee and make your new greyhound an official member of your family.

If, along the way, you have any questions, someone will always be available to help you throughout the process.
