Rescue FAQs

Max’s Animal Rescue & Humane Society, Inc. (MARI) was incorporated in 2007 by local community members. Our no-kill rescue/shelter opened its doors in early 2007. In the first three years MARI had placed almost 1,000 dogs in forever homes or other rescues. Our mission statement outlines our goal, to provide safety and care for homeless animals and education for the companion pets of our community. As a non-profit 501 (c)(3) agency, fund raising to support our budget is a challenge every year, but one we undertake willingly to provide for the homeless animals Geogia. . PURPOSE: MAX’S ANIMAL RESCUE, NONPROFIT, is organized exclusively for charitable and educational purposes concerning rescued animals. A. To establish, operate and maintain shelter facilities for stray, homeless and unwanted animals as per our licensing agreements. B. Insuring the legal protection of animals and to assist in the prevention of neglect and cruelty to animals by all means available. C. Promoting , motivating and encouraging responsible pet ownership and by saving the lives of companion animals. D. To inspire, and educate the population in the surrounding communities, about humane treatments of animals including controlling the pet population through spay and neutered programs. E. Providing a quality adoption program including acting as an ambassador to adoptee's F. Providing temporary shelter and veterinary care for lost and unwanted pets until their owners could be located or suitable adoptive homes can be located. G. Working with other groups, private and public, to insure there are NO MORE HOMELESS PETS in Georgia (Brantley County) by developing programs that will find pets responsible new homes, by addressing the root problems of pet overpopulation and abuse H. Promoting public awareness of and accessibility to spay/neuter programs for pets
