Shelter FAQs
We are a facility shared by an Adoption Center and Animal Care & Control. Our goal is no more homeless animals and to reduce the pet overpopulation.
Adults can be adopted in any state. Animals under 6 months of age that can not be altered prior to adoption can only be adopted by residents of Lynchburg and Amherst Counties PLUS counties adjacent to Amherst. Adjacent counties include: Appomattox, Bedford, Campbell, Nelson & Rockbridge Counties. A pre-approved application is required. Applications may be obtained online through our webiste. Vet references will be checked.
Dogs: adults $ 100., Small dogs & pure breeds $ 125. Puppies $ 125.
