Point Pleasant Beach Animal Welfare Committee

The Point Pleasant Animal Welfare Committee is a non profit group made up of local residents in our community. All of our operating expenses come strictly from fund-raising efforts and donations. We are recognized and supported by the Borough of Point Pleasant beach. Started in the spring of 2008 our first goal was to manage the growing feral cat population within our town by instituting a TNR (Trap-Neuter-Release) program. In August of 2008 a TNR/Management of feral cat colony ordinance was passed by mayor and council. Our Mission Statement: “To better care for and protect all domestic and wild animals in our Point Pleasant Beach Community. To create a cohesive environment for both human and animal cohabitation”

Rescue FAQs

We are the Point Pleasant Beach Animal Welfare Committee. Two of our main initiatives are a Trap Neuter Return (TNR), and Adoptions program.
We are a group of volunteers that serve the town of Point Pleasant Beach to TNR the feral cat population, rather than the town use tax money to pay for trapping and euthanize the cats.
The friendly strays, and kittens that we rescue, enter our adoption program to be adopted out to a good forever family.

Additional adoption info

We have an application process with an application, possible home visit, meet and greet of potential adopter and pet, and contract for adoption finalization.
