Rescued Treasures Pet Adoptions's adoption process

Additional adoption info

Rescued Treasures Pet Adoptions has a simple yet comprehensive procedure for its adoptions. The first step is to fill out our adoption application which can be found on our website (http://www.rescued-treasures.com). After the application is received a visit will be set up between you and the dog or cat. If the visit goes well, then a vet reference is done to verify the care of your past and present pets. A home visit with the dog is the last step in the process to make sure everyone, including the dog is comfortable.

Rescued Treasures Pet Adoptions is a non-profit organization. Our only form of funds come from adoption donation fees and donations from the public. We need to charge adoption donation fees in order to recoup some of the vetting done on our rescued pets. Without these donations we would not be able to continue rescuing dogs and cats. Rescued Treasures Pet Adoptions also accepts donations of dog and cat supplies so please do not hesitate to contact us regarding them.

Current adoption fees can be found at http://www.rescued-treasures.com/adoption-fees/

About Rescued Treasures Pet Adoptions

Rescued Treasures Pet Adoptions is a pet
rescue and adoption run solely by
volunteers who have a passion to help
society's throwaways. Each year in the
United States 3-4 million dogs and cats are
euthanized in shelters. While Rescued
Treasures Pet Adoptions can only make a tiny
dent in that number, we have dedicated
ourselves to saving as many as we can.

Each rescued pet that comes into Rescued
Treasures has been saved from either a kill
shelter or an owner who could no longer take
care of him/her. Rescued Treasures takes the
time to get each pet fully vetted to ensure that
the pet is healthy. The pet is then placed in a
loving and devoted foster home who cares for
and trains him/her to become wonderful
companions for his/her forever adoptive family.

Everyone can help control the number of pets
that are euthanized every year. One way is by
spaying or neutering their pets. Another way
is by fostering or adopting the pets that end up homeless. Rescued Treasures Pet Adoptions
is always looking for more dedicated and
loving foster homes for its homeless pets. It is one of the most heartwarming things in the world to look in the eyes of a dog, cat, puppy, or kitten that you saved from dying...they will forever be grateful that you cared enough to help them when no one else did.

Rescued Treasures Pet Adoptions's adopted pets

Adopt a Pet is the easiest way for you to search for a new pet in Rochester, NY.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
