Areas Guardian Angel Animal Rescue serves

Guardian Angel Animal Rescue (GAAR) is a no kill, not for profit rescue dedicated to the welfare of abused, neglected, and disabled animals. We are a community of volunteers in Southeastern Michigan that have the goal of temporarily sheltering each animal in our houses until a responsible, loving, and permanent home is found.
We feed many feral colonies in Detroit and around the Metro Area. We spay/neuter the cats and maintain the colonies. We feed over 100 cats and are always in need of cat food dry and wet. GAAR provides dog food/straw and fencing for chained dogs in detroit we are currently feeding of 40 chained dogs. Please contact us at 734-516-2171 if you would like to donate food.

Additional adoption info

All pets are vaccinated, sterilized, and microchipped prior to their adoption unless medically noted otherwise.
Potential adopters are required to fill out an application and have a GAAR representative complete a home visit before adoption; applicants are then subject to GAAR approval before adoption. Please note that applications are not first-come, first-serve, and instead, pets are placed in homes that we perceive to be the most ideal match for them.
Please visit www.gaarmichigan.org/adoptions/ for more details, fees, and application.

About Guardian Angel Animal Rescue

Guardian Angel Animal Rescue (GAAR) is a no kill, not for profit rescue dedicated to the welfare of abused, neglected, and disabled animals. Primarily a dog and cat rescue, we are a community of volunteers in Southeastern Michigan that have the goal of temporarily sheltering each animal in our houses until a responsible, loving, and permanent home is found. GAAR is firmly against euthanasia as a means of reducing unwanted animals and we accept animals of any age of condition. Both volunteers and pets come to us for that very same reason.
We desperately need foster parents for dogs or cats who share the same vision and heart as we do We also are seeking other types of volunteers: we need help with fundraising and the making of crafts, and outreach opportunities. Please visit www.gaarmichigan.org for more details or email us.

Guardian Angel Animal Rescue's adopted pets

Adopt a Pet is the easiest way for you to search for a new pet in Livonia, MI.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
