Rescue FAQs

West Michigan Critter Haven is dedicated to improving the lives of small domesticated animals such as rabbits, guinea pigs, small lizards, birds and rodents in our community. Our mission is to rescue domestic rabbits and other small animals within our community and find them new homes, support our local shelters in the care of their rabbits, educate the community on the proper and responsible care of small companion animals and ultimately reduce the number of abandoned and neglected pets relinquished in West Michigan.
Our rescue is composed of a network of foster families in the Grand Rapids area of West Michigan. We have no main facility.

Additional adoption info

Appointments to visit pets in their foster homes are only made after completed adoption paperwork is received, reviewed by a director and a phone interview is conducted by an adoption counselor. We do charge an adoption fee based on type of critter. We reserve the right to terminate the adoption process or refuse adoption at any time. We reserve the right to remove a pet from an undesirable situation post adoption through out the pet's life.
