Rescue FAQs

Our Mission-The purpose of the Mid-Michigan Pit Bull Rescue is to aid in the placement of stray and unwanted American Pit Bull Terriers and mixes thereof; to organize and maintain a temporary shelter with procedures associated with the health, care and handling of the animal. We are a no-kill rescue shelter that wishes to educate the public on the issues attached to this breed such as, unnecessary breeding, cruelty (organized dog fighting) and the negative stereotypes that people have for Pit Bulls. At Mid-Michigan Pit Bull rescue we are devoted to rehabilitating and training these particular breeds until they can be managed and placed into new and loving homes by responsible individual’s/family’s. As part of our service If I am unable to take in any dogs because of over capacity I will offer my assistance in helping the current owners find a new home for their dog.

Additional adoption info

We require an application for every pet, and if adopted, a signed contract and adoption fee, or comparable donation of food/pet supplies/etc, following adoption, we perform a 30-day and 6 month follow up, including veterinary reference check. We do NOT ship animals, but would be happy to help coordinate safe, reasonable transportation for the right home.

All donation go directly to the care of the dog, (i.e. Veterinary expenses, food).
