Rescue FAQs

We started this organization because there were an incredible number of wonderful pets being impounded in Rice County without any hope of finding a new home. We are a not-for-profit charitable organization relying solely on donations and fundraisers to get the necessary care for these lovable pets to be adopted. All fundraising efforts are volunteer. No members, officers, or board members are compensated for the generous hours spent helping animals in need. More volunteers are always welcome!
We rescue the impounded animals of Rice County, Kansas, and work to find new homes for them. We do not have a facility of our own and pay boarding fees for a limited number to stay at the Rice County Veterinary Clinics. Space is limited!

Additional adoption info

We require an Adoption Contract be signed after receiving a positive veterinary and/or personal reference, We request a $150 adoption fee for dogs to help defray some of the veterinary costs of age-appropriate vaccinations, spay/neuter, canine heartworm test, deworming, and microchip. Cats have a $100 adoption fee which covers all listed above and feline leukemia test.
