Areas Second Chance Animal Rescue serves

We rescue animals from animal shelters throughout Oklahoma. We adopt to any state but we adopters are required to pick up their animal from our facility.

Second Chance Animal Rescue's adoption process

1.

Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

We are open Wednesday - Sunday, 12 PM to 5 PM!

2.

Meet the Pet

If you have any other dogs or family members, we suggest bringing them down so that everyone meets and gets along.

3.

Submit Application

Our application is pretty basic information about your lifestyle, the pets you have at home (if any), who is in your home, etc.

4.

Sign Adoption Contract

Our adoption contract is just what is expected of adopters. All animals adopted from us must return to us if you are unable to keep them.

5.

Approve Application

An adoption specialist will approve your application. We'll need a copy of a photo ID at this step.

6.

Pay Fee

Our adoption fee is by age for cats and dogs. 140 for animals six months and over, and 170 for under six months.

7.

Take the Pet Home

We will set you up with a cardboard carrier for cats, and a leash and collar for dogs, as well as a goodie bag and transition food.

Additional adoption info

Our adoption fee is $170 for puppies 6 months & younger and $140 for cats, kittens, and dogs over 6 months old. All animals are spayed/neutered, vaccinated, dewormed, microchipped, and kept on monthly flea/tick/ heartworm prevention. Dogs have been heartworm and tick disease tested and cats are fiv/fel leuk negative. We do require an adoption survey and signed contract for any adoption.

Second Chance Animal Rescue is a 501(c)3 non-profit, no-kill animal shelter. Fed ID # 73-1347576. Our facility runs solely on donations. We do not receive any city, state or federal funding. Our primary focus is to save dogs and cats from euthanasia throughout Oklahoma. With adoption, enrichment, spaying/neutering and education, our facility strives to provide excellent adoption services and offers a second chance for animals in need. Once a Second Chance animal, always a Second Chance animal!

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
