Rescue FAQs

We are a small, all volunteer, non-profit 501(c)(3) without a shelter and operates with only a foster home program for rescued dogs. Our goal is to save the precious lives through Rescue, Adoption and Spay/Neuter. We do this because there are SO MANY unwanted animals due to the lack of stringent Spay/Neuter Laws in Tennessee. Our organization believes Rescue, Adoption along with Spaying and Neutering is the most effective and humane way of controlling our pet overpopulation because there are not enough homes for all of the unwanted litters. We offer a low cost Spay/Neuter Program to the community for both dogs and cats. "Saving the life of one animal may not change the world, but the world will surely change for that one animal" author unknown Our Motto is to Lend a Helping Hand to Those Without a Voice. Our Facebook page is: DECATUR COUNTY (TN) HUMANE ASSOCIATION

All of our adoptable dogs are in foster homes in Decatur County Tennessee.

Additional adoption info

Prior to adoption all animals will have been spayed/neutered, quarantined for at least two weeks, made current on their immunizations (includes rabies if they’re old enough), dewormed (for tapes, hooks, rounds and whips) and started on heartworm preventive (dependent upon age). If they're over 6 months of age, they will be tested for heartworm and must be negative to be available for adoption.
