Rescue FAQs

Our group was created because there are not many shelters in our surrounding area leaving hundreds and hundreds of stray, neglected and abused animals with nowhere to go and nobody to care for them. Our main goal is to adopt out the animals that we take in and to spay and neuter. We are a group of foster homes therefore the animals are housed in our homes. The animals learn how to be a part of a family with other people and other pets. A few of us in our group also TNR feral cats. We trap, spay or neuter, house them for a week or so until they have healed from surgery and release them again. We do not euthanize any animals that come into our care unless their injuries or health is too poor for them to survive.
Empire Animal Rescue Society is a very small group of volunteers who serve the greater Salamanca area.

Additional adoption info

To adopt one of our animals you must email empirerescue@gmail.com to obtain our adoption application. Be sure to write the name of the animal you are interested in the subject line of the email so your email does not get lost in our junk mail filter. We will then email you an adoption application back to you. Once you have completed it you must return it via email to us. We will then be in contact with you about the adoption. We all work other jobs and are volunteers so it may take us a day or two to get back to you depending on our work schedules...but don't worry...we will! The donation fees for our puppies and dogs may vary depending on the pet. For an older dog or high maintenance dog (behavioral/medical issues) the fee may be less. If it is a highly adoptable or purebred animal the fee may be slightly more. Generally our dog fees include spay/neuter, all age appropriate vaccines, de-worming and flea control. Remember that pet care and Vet bills are expensive; you must be ready to take on this financial and emotional responsibility. Cat fees also vary and include spay/neuter, flea treatment, de-worming and testing for FeLV/FIV.
