CT Animal House is a 501(c)3 non-profit organization that assists Connecticut Municipal Pounds by providing support for emergency medical expenses, grooming, evaluation, behavioral training, and promotion of animals through our networks in order to improve each animal's chances for adoption. Too often animals with special needs go untreated and are eventually deemed unadoptable and euthanized.

CT Animal House offers assistance to any Municipal Pound in Connecticut. We have helped animals from Waterford, East Lyme, New Haven, New London, Norwich, Montville, Stonington, North Stonington, Preston, Old Lyme, East Haddam, Madison, Waterbury, Hartford, East Hartford, Torrington, Seymour, Bristol, Wolcott, Fairfield, and many other towns throughout the state of Connecticut.
Adoption steps
- Submit ApplicationYour application will be reviewed and you will be contacted by one of our adoption coordinators within 3-5 business days.
- InterviewOur adoption coordinator will give you a call and schedule a time for a phone interview to go over your application. References are checked.
- Meet the PetWe will schedule a meet and greet with your family, both human and animal, with the dog you are interested in adopting.
- Home CheckWe will verify your home is appropriate for the dog you are adopting.
- Approve ApplicationIf all goes well, we will make the arrangements for you to welcome your new dog into your home!
- Pay FeePay the $300 adoption fee.
- Take the Pet HomeTake home your new family member!!!

Following adoption:
CT Animal House will be available to guide you through the transition with your new friend. We want to make sure that your experience in adopting a shelter dog is a good one!
CT Animal House asks for a tax deductible donation of $300 per dog. Dogs are spayed/neutered ,vaccinated, and micro-chipped. Per our adoption agreement, pups under the age of 6 months will receive a scheduled spay/neuter appointment at the Vet of our choice to be used when the pup turns 6 months old.
