Additional adoption info
We ask for an adoption fee of only $75, a donation to help defray veterinary and general care expenses. All animals are current on vaccinations, tested for diseases and parasites, dewormed, spayed/neutered as soon as they are healthy enough for surgery (usually prior to 6 months of age), and are maintained on healthy diets and flea/tick preventative with our dog regimen adding heartworm preventative. Most dogs are microchipped - microchipping will be stated in individual profiles. All vet care is completed prior to an animal becoming adoptable, after they are cleared for adoption by one of our local veterinarians. Vet records are given to adopters.
We require an adoption application to be submitted for approval prior to adoption. To apply for adoption, visit www.humanesocietyofwa.org/formsinfo.html to fill out an online application. You can also obtain a paper application by downloading the Word application from our website, mailed by request or by visiting one of our locations in person. We do not require an application for meeting an animal at dog meet & greets or during open hours of our cat adoption center. We always recommend meeting an animal prior to making a decision to adopt. Our application is only preliminary, and is non-binding for adoption of a specific animal or for adoption at all.
