We are located in Douglasville, approximately 25 minutes west of Atlanta on Interstate 20.

Douglas County Animal Shelter's Adoption Process

1. Submit Application

Submit an Application online to avoid wait times!

2. Meet the Pet

Visit our facility and meet the pets your interested in!

3. Approve Application

Our Staff will go over any concerns they have with your application, and Approve it! We believe in education verses denying pet adoption.

4. Pay Fee

All Adoption fees have been waived due to over-capacity status!

5. Sign Adoption Contract

Sign a contract stating you will care for this animal and follow all laws concerning pet ownership!

6. Take the Pet Home

Take home your new family member!

All dogs have had their DAPP, Bordetella vaccines, first initial deworming and flea treatment and a lifelong registered microchip.
All cats have had their FVRCP, initial deworming and flea treatment and a lifelong registered microchip.

About Douglas County Animal Shelter

Our shelter is operated by the Douglas County Board of Commissioners (BOC). We strive to educate our county citizens by providing information about low-cost spay/neuter options and general information about responsible pet ownership.
Douglas County Animal Services is located in Douglasville, Georgia, all adoptions must take place in person.
We impound stray animals at large in Douglas County. Unfortunately information on an animals behavior or temperament is not known. Breeds listed are an estimation and are not guaranteed.
We do operate as a first come, first served policy.

Come Meet Douglas County Animal Shelter's Pets

Closed Mondays. Open Tuesday - Sunday 1pm-5pm. Meet and Greets end at 4:30pm.
