The Natchitoches Humane Society is an all-volunteer 501(c)3 non-profit, no-kill organization supported entirely by donations and member dues. Our mission is to relieve suffering and prevent cruelty to animals, provide care and treatment for animals needing protection, return lost animals to their owners and find suitable homes for homeless animals.
We serve Natchitoches Parish.
Adoption steps
- Submit ApplicationOnce your application is processed you will be called by an NHS volunteer.
- InterviewAdditional questions may be asked then we set up a time and location to meet the animal you are interested in. Home visit discussed.
- Visit the Facility and Find a PetYou can bring other pets to this meeting.
- Sign Adoption Contract
Additional adoption info
We require completion of an adoption application and will require an adoption fee and a signed contract upon adoption. We may make home visits. We reserve the right to dissolve the adoption and seize the pet should a home visit prove the animal is in an undesirable or unsafe situation.
