Almost Home for Cats's Adoption Process

Adopter must be over age 25 and employed full time for at least a year. Require that they own their own home or renters must provide copy of their lease to prove they can own a pet in their rental. We do NOT adopt to smokers, or to anyone who plans on de-clawing. Due to the coyote population we adopt to indoor homes only.
Require that any kitten be neutered or spayed no later than 5 1/2 months old. Ask for a donation, fee varies but is no more than $125.

About Almost Home for Cats

We are an all un-paid volunteer rescue group who provides food and medical care to stray, abused and abondoned cats in our own homes, we are not a shelter. We receive no funds other than from the donations received when we adopt out our foster animals. We trap/spay/neuter within a 20 mile radius of our homes and manage many local feral colonies. We are in dire need of cat food and litter and any volunteers within the Durham area who would like to feed feral cats. We have been doing rescue since 1998. We cannot take in owner surrender cats BUT we are willing to post them on our site for adoption; and we will screen potential adopters for the owner.

Come Meet Almost Home for Cats's Pets

Our animals can be seen after a phone interview qualifies that the person interested in the pet AND the pet are a good fit for the lifestyle of the potential adopter. We are not a shelter so an appointment is necessary.
