Rescue FAQs

Finding forever homes for our best friends and saving the lives of dogs in shelters - one dog at a time. Primarily focusing on the rescue, rehoming and welfare of Dachshunds along with other breeds. To provide safe shelter, necessary care and required socialization, while finding a forever home for any dog in need. To provide education to the community about the breed, its needs and the importance of spaying & neutering in the effort to prevent unwanted dogs from being abandoned or mistreated. Through this education we also assure successful adoptions.

Additional adoption info

Adoption Requirements:

• You must be 21 years of age

• All current pets in the household MUST be spayed/neutered and current on shots (yes, we do call and verify this information)

• We do not adopt out dogs as gifts

• All pets are family companions!

Adoption Process:

Step 1: Find a dog you're interested in. Browse our available dogs

Step 2: Email us and I will send you the application to fill out. This preliminary application gives us basic information regarding you, your family and your home, so we can help match you to the right dog.

Step 3: Wait to hear back from a volunteer. Remember - all of our staff are volunteers. We do our best to review your application with you within 48 hours, however, there are occasional emergencies, set-backs and other obsticles in our way. Please be patient - we WILL contact you

Step 4: Meet the dog. If your application matches the dog you're interested in, we will set up a time for you to come meet your potential new family member. We would like every member of your household - including the four legged ones - to meet your new potenial family member to make sure everyone gets along!

Step 5: Homecheck: We want to make sure our dogs are entering an enviornment that is safe and secure, and that all members of the family are ready and eager for this new responsibility. We also want to make sure the dog you have chosen gets along well with your current family members - both human and other pets.

Step 6: Congratulations! You have a new family member and have given a wonderful dog a forever home

Adoption fees vary $50.00 up.

All adoption donations include a comprehensive health exam, current vaccinations, spay/neuter, microchip/registration fees, socialization, and temperament tests.

Please remember that the adoption donation is not for the purchase of a dog, but rather to cover the medical cost of all dogs in our care.
