ACTion Programs for Animals's Adoption Process

1. Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

2. Submit Application

3. Interview

If you see a pet that might be your match, download and print the APA! Adoption Application & Agreement and email mail@apalascruces.org to submit your application and/or set up a time to meet the pet you are interested in.

Initial adoption screening is done over the phone. When we approve an adopter past that stage, we arrange a time for the adopter to meet the animal or let the adopter know of our next offsite adoption event. If it looks like it is a good match for the animal and family, we ask the adopter to fill out our adoption agreement contract, and we charge non-refundable adoption fee. This includes vaccinations, spay/neuter, and microchipping.

About ACTion Programs for Animals

Our organization works to help people and their pets live better lives together. We run the local pet food bank and work to help our Second Chance Dogs find alternatives to going to our shelter, where they are usually put down immediately. We are starting our efforts to rescue at risk cats and dogs from our high-kill municipal shelter.

Come Meet ACTion Programs for Animals's Pets

We do some off-site adoptions, and our rescues animals are in foster homes. We can arrange for adopters to meet animals as soon as possible.
