Rescue FAQs

We are a small group who are dedicated to finding homes for unwanted pets. There is a large volunteer base that helps out daily at The Pet Place taking care of the animals, helping customers with spay/neuter vouchers, grooming and facility maintenance. The Pet Place of Marshall is a private pet adoption center located in the heart of Marshall, Texas.
We are a non-profit that takes in owner surrendered pets and some strays. We have all animals vetted before adoption. We are located close enough to Marion, Panola and Gregg counties for potential adopters to come visit the pets. We are funded by donations and memberships only.

Additional adoption info

An application must be filled out before adoptions are granted.

Dog adoptions are $100 plus a $50.00 deposit for a spay/neuter surgery. Total adoption fee $150.00. Once the surgery is completed and we receive paperwork back from the veterinarian's office, we will refund you back your deposit.

Cat adoptions are $65.00 plus a $35.00 deposit for a spay/neuter surgery. Total adoption fee $100.00. Once the surgery is completed and we receive paperwork back from the veterinarian's office, we will refund you back your deposit.

Included with the dog adoptions are the pet's spay or neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, parvo/distemper inoculation, goodie bag, a collar with id tag, and a training leash. Cat adoptions include the pet's spay or neuter surgery, rabies vaccination, feline distemper vaccination, collar, id tag, and a goodie bag. Dogs and cats are given at least a first worming and may have been provided other veterinarian procedures, such as dental care, as needed. An adoption application can be found at www.hshc-paws.org

No pet that has not been altered will be adopted outside of our county due to Texas State law requiring all pets to be altered that come from a shelter or rescue. If they are to young we will adopt out locally so they can be brought back for surgery when they are old enough.

Please make donations or sponsor a pet thru Paypal. Donations may be mailed also. Donated supplies may be dropped at our facility.
