Rescue FAQs

Hearts of Love Rescue works to help save dogs and cats from high kill shelters and to get them to their new furever loving homes. Distance is not a problem, animals can be transported. We also work with abused, abandonded and nelected animals as well. Animals are living breathing creatures like us and they deserve the same love and respect as we do.
Hearts of Love Rescue is located in Vancouver BC. We work with pulling animals ( usually dogs ) from shelters in several different places. Currently we work with places in Texas, Ohio, California, Oregon, WA.

Additional adoption info

Fees vary depending on the age of the animal and the health of the animal. We do not charge an arm and leg for adoption, Our main goal is to get the animals into a loving forever home where there will be happy. the average adoption fee is between $175 - $225

The forms we require to be filled out are the full adoption application, which covers all of your info, your references, any experience you have, any questions about how you would handle different situations. We also have a contract that states if for any reason you can not keep the animal or do not want it any longer the animal will be returned to Hearts of Love Rescue and not to any other person or shelter. This is for the safety of the animal. Once these are approved a homecheck would be done. If that is approved then the animal ( usually dogs ) would be brought over for a few hour to check the place out, if all goes well then the next step is trying an overnight or a weekend. Animals sometimes react differently when the foster they are confortable with is not in their presence, that is why we want to do this slowly. If everything works out with that then the animal can be fully adopted by it's new family
