A 1172 1st NH Turnpike, Northwood, NH 03261 shelter helping to find loving homes for dogs, cats.
1 - 5 of 5 Adoptable Pets at This Shelter
We partner mainly with high kill shelters in the South Carolina and have an extensive foster system set up both in SC and in NH. . We have approved foster homes in these states where pups and kitties are placed for a transition period where they are spayed, neutered and fully vetted prior to their transport up to New Hampshire. We adopt dogs out to prescreened and qualified adoptive homes in all of NH, Southern Maine, VT. and MA.
Applications are available on our website at www.pettailsrescue.org
References will be checked and a phone interview with adopter will take place. All current pets must be UTD on all vaccinations and spayed.
Please note that due to Covid all meet & greet appointments must be scheduled. Only 2 people are allowed in at a time for adoption.
Pet Tails Rescue was founded by Maureen Cahill in March 2012. We are a a group of volunteers committed to the rescue of dogs in southern states who are located in high kill shelters. The numbers are staggering. One of the shelters that we save our pups from in Atlanta had over a 60% euthanasia rate – over 3800 pups who were never given a chance at life. This is why we have committed to saving these pups and finding them loving homes.
Pet Tails Rescue is a 501c non-profit corporation. We locate and screen adoptive and foster homes for these pups, arrange for all pups to be vetted and arrange transportation to the new adoptive or foster homes. We believe that every dog deserves a chance at life…every dog has a tale to tell and a story to be told. Our goal is to have their stories unfold in the loving home of their new family. If a story is not told it is forgotten. And no life should ever be forgotten.
Pet Tails Rescue has a facility located in Northwood, NH. Most all of our adoptive homes have been found through social media and with just a photo or two of the pup in need. Just one photo and someone says “that’s my dog, please bring him home to me”. We are conduits. We believe every animal deserves an opportunity to a happy life.
From April 2012 through December, 2020 we have rescued over 5,000 dogs and cats.
Appointments must be made for Meet and Greet Adoptions.
