Additional adoption info
We do not adopt out dogs before their 3-5 day holds are up. A dog may not be fostered until after it is available to rescue and past the adoption date. The city shelter does not have a foster program operated by the city however if you are interested in fostering for a rescue contact the rescue to see if they are willing to pull the dog for you to foster it when the dog is made available for rescue. If you have any questions about any of the dogs please call 931-359-5948 or post a question here. We have a Shelter Manager at the shelter Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, and Friday 8am-4pm (closed an hour for lunch) and Saturdays 3pm-6pm. We are closed on Thursdays and Sundays. Our adoption fee is currently $75. This fee covers the spay/neuter/Rabies vax/shelter vax for each dog. No dog will leave the shelter not vetted except to approved rescue. We accept personal checks or correct change when you come in to adopt. You must fill out an adoption application in order to adopt.
The shelter manager and volunteers are at the shelter to help with questions, inquiries on dogs and adoptions. If you call and there's no answer, please leave a message and someone will return your call as soon as they can.
