Areas Save A Life Pet Rescue Inc serves

We are a small Non-Profit, No-Kill 501(c )(3) animal rescue, licensed in Florida and Georgia, that is dedicated to making a BIG difference in the lives of animals scheduled for euthanasia. Even with the economy at its worst, we will never give up and will do everything in our power to achieve to our goal of opening a no-kill facility.

In the past 7 years we have successfully placed over 7,500 animals.

Save-A-Life Pet Rescue, INC. rescues puppies and dogs of all ages and breeds. We focus on puppies under six months, heart worm positive mothers and adults. We have big hearts for animals that are extremely malnourished and abused. We rescue all puppies and adults regardless of medical problems. We treat mange, parvo, distemper, corona, influenza, kennel cough, broken bones, liver shunts, etc. We also take in blind and deaf animals. No problem is too big or too small.

We are a true no-kill animal rescue.

We believe that every animal deserves a second chance at a long, happy and healthy life. We believe that educating people from hands on experience will help end some euthanizing of once "deadly diseases" that CAN be treated. We urge adopters, possible adopters or anyone to please contact us if you need advice or a low cost vet recommendation.

We also have successfully treated over 400 adult dogs with heartworms.

In 2008 we were blessed with a wonderful group of high school volunteers wanting to earn community service hours for college. We have joined with the "Bright Futures Scholarship Program" in our local area. All of our high school volunteers have gone above and beyond the hours they needed to earn credit. Their dedication and eagerness to learn has helped us rescue even more animals than before. They have stepped up and are now fostering along with volunteering when they have any free time. We hope to continue to play a BIG role in our local community and surrounding cities in the development of high school opportunities for finical aid assistance.

Additional adoption info

Thank You for your interest in adopting from Save A Life Pet Rescue!

We DO NOT have a physical shelter or location where potential adopters
can come and see/visit our animal we use foster homes for all of our pets.

We would also like to remind all adopters that we participate in the "Bright Future" program and have many high-school volunteers that attend and help out during adoption events.

Our volunteers answer questions to the best of their ability but are not the primary foster homes for any
of the animals.
To get the most accurate information on an available animal for adoption at an adoption event please
find Nikki or Jack to assist you.
(Senior Volunteers)

All of our animals are kept in private foster homes until they are ready for adoption.
We are always in need of foster homes for our rescued pets. If you would be interested in becoming
a foster home, please contact Anna - Savealifepetres@aol.com (Subject Foster Home)

Once our animals have made it through their quarantine period and have received their shots, worming and spay or neuter they will be listed on our petfinder.com website as available for adoption.

All adoptions take place every Saturday and Sunday at the Petsmart in Oviedo.

Please do not call or e-mail asking to see an available animal for adoption prior to Saturday and Sunday.

We at Save A Life Pet Rescue Inc. Also work full time jobs, outside of the rescue during the week and do
not do set up appointments for animals to be seen or adopted prior to the weekend.

We ask that you respect our policy on this regardless of any situation.

We have adoption donations to off set the cost for vaccinations, medications, spaying/neutering and unforeseen medical emergencies.

Adoption donations are non negotiable.

Adoption donations are as follows:

Dogs 6 months-15 years
$25.00-$200.00

Puppies 8 weeks-6 months
$100-$300

A very small amount of animals come into the rescue already vaccinated and fixed.
In a case like this, an animals adoption donation will be lower.
Also, if a person or family is unable to adopt but would like to make a donation on the behalf of an
available animal, the donation given will be deducted from the full adoption donation.
(This will refect on the website when clicking on the picture)

Most animals arriving at the rescue however, need to be fully vetted.
We encourage all adopters, if financially able, to donate over the adoption donation to help cover the
cost of puppies over taken by unforeseen illnesses.

All adoptions are done on a first come first serve basis.
(Granted that your application is approved)

We do not put holds or take deposits on available animals for adoption.
(This is rescue policy)

Adoption applications and contracts can ONLY be filled out in person on Saturdays and Sundays.
(We like to see who we are adopting to)

We do not have an online application or any paperwork that can be filled out prior to an adoption event.
(All paperwork is provided by a volunteer once an animal is chosen for adoption)

Please bring a valid driver’s license and the adoption donation in cash.

(No Checks or Credit Cards are accepted)

All donations are tax-deductable and non- refundable after 24 hours of adoption.

Save -A -Life Pet Rescue, Inc takes great pride in the health, temperament and adoption experience for both the animals and adopters. Save A Life Pet Rescue, Inc deals with a lot of animals under the age of 6 months old that require more time, care, and medical treatment than an adult dogs. This is because a puppy’s immune system is not fully developed and is more susceptible to catching diseases. About 99% of the animals that we take in are rescued from high-kill shelters. 1% are owner surrender.

In the past 7 years we have successfully placed over 7,500 animals.

Save A Life Pet Rescue Inc's adopted pets

Adopt a Pet is the easiest way for you to search for a new pet in Oviedo, FL.

Support adoption and rescue. Why go to a dog breeder, cat breeder or pet store to buy a dog or buy a cat when you can adopt?

Why should you adopt?

Dog adoption and cat adoption saves lives. Adopt a dog or adopt a cat and you'll have a friend for life.

What is the difference between adopting a dog, adopting a cat, adopting a kitten or adopting a puppy versus getting dogs for sale, cats for sale, puppies for sale or kittens for sale from a dog breeder or a cat breeder?

When someone is breeding puppies or breeding kittens, they are creating new dogs and cats who need homes. Some people are interested in a very specific breed of dog, cat, puppy or kitten and they think the only way to find that specific breed is to buy a dog for sale or buy a cat for sale from a puppy breeder or a kitten breeder. Yet animal shelters are filled with dogs and cats who must find homes.

So rather than buying a dog or puppy for sale from a dog breeder or buying a cat or kitten for sale from a cat breeder, we encourage people to adopt a dog, adopt a cat, adopt a puppy or adopt a kitten at their local animal shelter, SPCA, humane society or pet rescue group.
