The Rescue Inn, Inc. ("TRI") is an Ohio non-profit, foster-based rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of dogs in need.
We are run by a dedicated group of volunteers who are passionate about our four-legged friends. Our mission is to save dogs from high kill shelters and abuse/neglect situations and place those animals into loving and permanent homes. We promote responsible animal ownership and provide medical treatment, foster care and training to unwanted, abandoned, lost or surrendered animals.
Our animals are spayed/neutered, receive appropriate veterinary care and are placed into a safe, secure foster home while waiting for their permanent home. We also strive to work with other area shelters and rescues to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to enhance our rescue mission.

The Rescue Inn serves all of Northeast Ohio and surrounding areas. We will adopt out of state on a case by case basis.
Adoption steps
- Submit Application
- Begin the adoption process by submitting an application, found on our website, or contacting the adoption consultant listed for the dog.
- Interview
- Your application will be reviewed and the adoption consultant will contact you for a phone interview.
- Meet the Pet
- The adoption consultant will arrange a home visit and meet and greet where all household members (including other pets) can meet the dog
- Sign Adoption Contract
- Once the meet and greet has taken place and your application is approved, an adoption contract is completed and the adoption fee is paid.
- Take the Pet Home
- After a successful meeting and signed contract, the adoption is official and the dog is home. Steps 3, 4, and 5 can occur the same day.

If you are interested in meeting and adopting one of our dogs, you must be at least 18 years of age.
