Rescue FAQs

The Rescue Inn, Inc. ("TRI") is an Ohio non-profit, foster-based rescue organization dedicated to saving the lives of dogs in need. We are run by a dedicated group of volunteers who are passionate about our four-legged friends. Our mission is to save dogs from high kill shelters and abuse/neglect situations and place those animals into loving and permanent homes. We promote responsible animal ownership and provide medical treatment, foster care and training to unwanted, abandoned, lost or surrendered animals. Our animals are spayed/neutered, receive appropriate veterinary care and are placed into a safe, secure foster home while waiting for their permanent home. We also strive to work with other area shelters and rescues to develop a network of supporters and volunteers in order to enhance our rescue mission.
The Rescue Inn serves all of Northeast Ohio and surrounding areas. We will adopt out of state on a case by case basis.

Our adoption process begins by completing an application, which can be found on our website, or you can contact us at therescueinn@gmail.com. Your application will be reviewed and someone will contact you for a phone interview and possible meet and greet. We will also check personal and vet references and conduct a home visit. Once your application is approved, an adoption contract is entered into.

Adoption fee varies based on the amount of medical care that the dog requires. Fees range from $250 to $400.

Fee Includes:
Basic age-appropriate shots (DHPP or DHLPP, Rabies, Bordetella)
Spay/Neuter
Fecal/Worming
Heartworm test (if animal is old enough)
Heartworm prevention
Flea prevention (as needed)
