Boxer Rescue of Vermont's Adoption Process

1. Submit Application

To adopt submit an application, A Volunteer will verify your info and call you, vet & references. Application at

2. Home Check

Volunteer w/ setup visit to your home to meet all members of family and existing pets etc. If all goes ok, we will setup MeetGreet with dog.

3. Meet the Pet

Scheduled with your house-members & Volunteer adoption coordinator and dog. If we feel dog is a good fit, adoption can happen that day.

4. Pay Fee

Pay fee and sign adoption & care agreement. Go home with pet.

5. Interview

Before & post adoption followup. We welcome you to reach out entire life of dog, we are here for you both.

Because we at Boxer Rescue of VT love our former death row foster pets so much we have an adoption process that includes an application, proof pets permitted in your home, we verify all info, conduct interviews, home visit ...  etc.

When can you meet the pet? Well, since volunteers are part timers we must 1st have your completed application, proof that pets are allowed, and a good home visit... then if we feel that the applicant is a good fit, a meet and greet with the dog will be set up ... AND... if all goes good then adoption will take place that day.  Adoption fee will be due at that time, adopter will also be required to sign an adoption and care agreement. Please note: If it anytime adopter no longer can keep pet or the terms of the adoption and care agreement can not be mer then pet will be immediately returned to Boxer Rescue of VT.

We are a volunteer foster home based rescue that saves kill-sheller, abandoned or unwanted pets lives and give them the best quality of life in carefully selected loving volunteer foster homes until the pets are fully vetted, rehabilitated & the right forever home is found. We do this because we believe no animal should be put to sleep for being stray, homeless or dumped at no fault of their own. We Love all creatures.. But we specialize in boxers, English bulldogs, and Boston terriers; Rescue is our favorite breed!

Come Meet Boxer Rescue of Vermont's Pets

Prior to meeting pets your adoption application must becsubmitted & verified and home visit interview complete and accepted by us, then we will setup a meet & greet for you & your potential pet. Under no circumstance are potential adopters allowed to visit the foster home.. this is for safety and privacy of all concerned.
