Additional adoption info
We require a personal interview at which time we review our guidelines for pet's care and make sure our contract is agreeable as well as answer any questions.
DOGS: The adoption fee is $250 -$350 after completion of the adoption application, home visit and interview. If the dog is over 5 months of age the adoption fee includes heartworm test, rabies vaccine, spay/neuter done, and distemper vaccines (if needed).
If you are adopting a puppy under 4 months of age, there is an additional CASH deposit of $80 which is returned when proof of spay/neuter is provided to DFAS within the required time frame (which is part of the adoption contract).
CATS: Adoption fees generally are $50 for unaltered cats/kittens and an additional $65 CASH ONLY deposit required until proof of spay/neuter between 4 and 5 months of age has been provided to DFAS.. Kitties who are already spay/neutered are $100 regardless of age.
All cats and kittens are up-to-date on age-appropriate vaccines and FELV tested if they are over 5 months of age. We test the mom of kittens if she is with them.
